"Curators Gonna Curate" is a compelling piece by the artist known as Big Comic, featured in the BIG COMIC ART collection at the RODEO on the Manifold platform. The artwork's title and the artist's original description, "You mean, it's really not that inclusive after all?", suggest a critical examination of the art world's inclusivity and the role of curators in shaping narratives. The phrase "Curators Gonna Curate" is a play on the popular internet meme "Haters Gonna Hate," which is often used to express defiance against criticism or negativity. By adapting this meme, Big Comic highlights the persistent nature of curatorial practices, possibly implying that curators will continue to curate, regardless of external opinions or calls for change.

The artwork is entirely handmade, combining traditional painting techniques with digital craftsmanship. This fusion of mediums reflects a contemporary approach to art-making, bridging the gap between physical and digital realms. By integrating elements of internet culture, such as memes and gifs, Big Comic creates a dialogue between traditional art forms and modern digital expressions. This approach not only challenges conventional boundaries but also invites viewers to reconsider the definitions of art and authorship in the digital age.

In the context of the BIG COMIC ART collection, "Curators Gonna Curate" serves as a thought-provoking commentary on the evolving landscape of art curation and the ongoing discourse surrounding inclusivity and representation in the art world. The piece's innovative use of mixed media and cultural references positions it as a significant contribution to contemporary art, encouraging viewers to engage critically with the mechanisms that influence artistic narratives and the role of curators in shaping these stories.
